OUR PROGRAMS
Advancing Our Agenda
Spiritual and Emotional Support Group
SAYFSM facilitates an HIV support group that meets twice a month. Participants and their families receive wellness education and emotional support.
Case Management and Care Advocacy
Through our Support Services, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Sub-Saharan African Youth and Family Services in Minnesota, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organization. We provide:
- referrals to clinics, mental health providers, legal services, ESL classes
- assistance with basic needs, such as housing, furniture, household items, food, clothing, employment
- translation and interpreting assistance
- transportation
Education & Outreach
Most of our efforts pertaining to educating the community about HIV prevention, presenting at community events, churches, and schools. We emphasize in developing culturally and linguistically appropriate HIV-educational materials and provides HIV counseling, testing, and referral (CTR) at all outreach events, at the SAYFSM office, or at places of an individual’s choosing.
